Skill Balances?
Does anyone know when the updates are. Anet has really dropped the ball on this one. I mean the website says that we will get a new way to store our event hats during wintersday... where is that update I mean wintersday is over. ALL pvp just blows now. I don't even wanna play gw anymore I mean its pathetic. I'm sick of searing flames and bunny thumpers and grenth dervishes ripping of prots while tons of eles just blast me dead instantly.
Seriously what are they doing over there at Anet???
Does anyone have a clue when they are gonna balance the skills because until they do gw just isn't fun.

The hat storage update is there as hats can be stored by talking to the festival hats npcs. Once hes seen them you can delete them from your characters and they are still tied to your account, you can just remake them for 10g each. Gaile said there is a skill ballance coming, but I don't think there has been a date set yet, but probably when they remove Wintersday or something, don't know.
This happens most of the time anyway, people find builds that work and they get copied and adjusted by other players. Skills have counters though, if its a heavy ele searing flames team, you could always spread out a bit more to avoid it being AoE and spike them individually, guardian/wards/blind against Grenth and thumpers etc, it's not like these teams are impossible to beat. It would be nice to have a little more variation though, you can guarantee you will meet Searing Flames, Spirit Spam and Fear Me builds on your way to halls and probably play 2 of those teams when you get there. It happens though, people will find new builds that work after the update and these will also get copied. In the end the better team wins usually.
Also we had a major bug on altar match today where an opposing team capped, and managed to somehow pull their ghostly off the altar and run him totally miles away with a minute left. Don't know if that's just a one time thing but it's kind of an annoying glitch, was in Broken Tower I think, the second map... I forget the names hehe.

Well the hat storage in regards to the NPC isn't really "new" as it was there before wintersday.
In terms of skill balancing searing flames in the 6v6 areana is nothing near to how much more overpowered it is in 8v8. I feel the game is pretty well balanced as it is except for the skill searing flames. Its the only skill I have a problem with. This is because all the other new skills can be countered fairly easily but for searing flames there isn't an effective enough counter atm for the game to be balanced.
In regards to your major bug on the altar match.... I recently experienced a bug in the Hall of Heros where the holding team had been knocked off and a new team had capped the altar, but about fourtyfive seconds after the new team had capped the original holding team recieved a morale boost. So it says... Red Team has Captured the Altar... and then right after it says Blue Morale boost...

I guess Squid is on the ball... they will update before the tourneys, and for that we need some promised information as well give them a break. Its holiday season for Anet as well
If the champagne is out of the system...they will come with some nice (or not so nice) changes
@tomcruisejr... how could you say that! these skills are unstoppable... at least its warm and cosy, all close together in the flames

i know from experiance diversion spam owns searing flames, even shutting down 2 sf ele's(if there are more) is alot of pressure gone.

Well yeah, there are plenty of counters to searing flames. The problem is more that when multiplied, the skill gets that much better, and has the specs to be abused mercilessly (pick your favorite gimmick, 6 dudes mimicry'ing an elemental attune and echoing SF, 4 SF guys with 2 fulltime shutdown mesmers, whatever). It just needs a small tweak in some direction to make it a good fire skill, but not imba.
Main skill begging for a nerf is shadow of haste, and then to a lesser extent blinding surge. As izzy said himself, out of balance defensive skills make the game unfun. At least spoil victor, grenths dervishes, and searing flames make things die
